Welcome to my portfolio. I am Juany Roman Maqueira, Ed.D in Educational Leadership and a global citizen searching to open opportunities in education for all who are untapped gems. I thrive on innovative and pragmatic ideas on education for development and enjoy building strong relationships along the way. This portfolio intends to document my journey through learning instructional design and share with you my professional growth.
ABOUT ME
I began my professional journey more than twenty years ago with the dream to be a changemaker in education. I went through 3 careers finding ways to serve people: started the road being an Information Science professional in Peru, an International Leisure and Recreation Specialist in The Netherlands and an Education for Development Specialist and Consultant in different regions. I have been involved in several educational projects partnerships and technical cooperation throughout Latin America and The Caribbean ranging from ICTs in Education, Educational Quality Improvement, Teacher Training, Transforming STEM practices to Capacity Strenghtening for Ministries of Education.
I am a firm believer that it takes a village for the seeds of talent to grow and we need everyone's ideas and skills to make real learning accessible. I created this portfolio to share with you my own journey through lifelong learning and share my experience in designing educational programs throughout Latin America. Through reflecting on learning theories I will shed new light to my practice and re-think how to better support the organizations I serve.
